OUR APPROACH

Landscape is never finished.

We design with what is there, what is needed and what might come next. Research, lived experience and ecological processes shape our work, from the first conversation to the ongoing life of a landscape.

Pioneer. Root. Adapt.

01 / PIONEER

Question what a landscape can be.

We begin by asking how a place is experienced, how it is used and what it could become. Research, lived experience and conversations with the people who know it help us challenge assumptions and make room for different needs.

02 / ROOT

Start with what is already here.

Every place has its own character: history, landform, water, vegetation, materials, stories and daily routines. We work to understand these layers, adding only what is needed to make landscapes that fit.

03 / ADAPT

Design for change, not a fixed end point.

Planting grows, seasons shift and people use places in unexpected ways. We design with this uncertainty, considering care, management and changing needs from the outset so landscapes can evolve through use, ecological succession and time.

04 / WORKING TOGETHER

Listen. Draw. Test. Develop.

We work with communities, clients and collaborators to understand a place and develop ideas together. Drawings and workshops make proposals tangible, creating space for questions, different perspectives and shared decisions.

A COMMITMENT, NOT JUST AN APPROACH.

At least 5%.

We commit a minimum of 5% of studio profits to educational workshops and community build initiatives at SEN and SEMH schools and further education establishments.

LET’S MAKE ROOM FOR SOMETHING GOOD.
